Community

A large part of every Slow Food chapter is to promote Slow Food principles around the community.

We currently work with the Growe Foundation (www.growefoundation.org) in getting local food and gardens in schools. So far the foundation has planted vegetable gardens at nine Boulder County elementary schools, with more on the way.

Slow Food CU’s partnership with Growe allows CU students to join in on this exciting and rewarding project. Opportunities include gardening and education via the Garden Club, which will meet every Monday from 3 – 4:15, starting Sept. 21, grant-writing, speaking Spanish with the children at University Hill Elementary (a bilingual school), and much more.
